Big/Little Day 2!! #AOII (Taken with instagram)
prettymuchtrue asked: We only have like $15 dollars to spend per new member at this point and we NEED cheap crafts for all of our members to do to give them nice presents (don't worry, they'll be getting three shirts as well). Any ideas?
I would make them a nice pin box with supplies from a craft store (or dollar store!! They have nice wooden boxes ready to be painted) or painted/decorated picture frames. Definitely cheap but nice crafts!
I made this box using handmade white paper mod-podged onto a sky blue box. The edge of the heart and the clouds are embossed with silver, and a note inside the box reminds my Little that there is a silver lining to every cloud, and through everything, her Phi Sigs will be there for her!

sealym asked: I am having a bear of a time finding letters to paint to give to my new little! Do you have any website suggestions? All of the ones that I've found have been extremely expensive.
Hmm I’ve never bought any online.. but I found these or these if you are looking for smaller ones, they’re fairly cheap. I don’t know anything about the credibility of the sites since I’ve never used them. You might want to try finding someone who can do woodworking and just buy some cheap wood at the store if you want larger! If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to tell me and I can pass it on :)
heyhaleyo asked: In regards to the last question, you can also use freezer paper as a stencil on fabric! Less messy than spray paint :) I can't include a link, but just google "freezer paper stencil tutorial" and a bunch of tutorials come up!
Hey this is so cool, I can’t believe I’ve never done this before! Here is the link to the first tutorial that comes up on google which seems to be a good one. I CANNOT wait to try this!
Anonymous asked: I'm taking a little very soon and I need some help. It is tradition to not give letters until after they cross, so we make handmade Big/Little shirts for Big Sis Revs. I've never crafted with fabric before, and I'm not sure of the best way to design the shirt so that it looks clean and is not too expensive!
One idea is that you can put whatever you like (ex. BIG/LITTLE) on the shirts following these directions, it gives it a more professional feeling and it can be SUPER cheap. I’ve also seen girls cut out stencils and do spray painting, but unless you’re very careful it can end up looking messy. The other option I can think of is buying iron on material that you can print the pattern on from your computer, cut it out and then just iron it on but these wear out quickly in the wash if you use dark ink.
Anonymous asked: Hey! i have big little night soon and i have been making crafts but im running out of ideas. i have made picture frames, cork board, a tray thing, pencil case, pin box, wine glass, shot glass, door hanger thing, and a mirror. I cant use the letters or the abbreviated version of my sorority which is dphie until initiation night. what are other ideas i can make of stuff since it is limited to only using big/little, pledge class, and there tree.
Ideas: headband, bows, bracelet (possibly friendship-bracelet style!), bigger jewelry box. You really have made everything! Try thinking outside the box, look around for absolutely anything you could decorate at a craft store :)
Delta Phi Nu Little Gifts

I purchased 7 wood boxes from Dollarama for $1.25 each + $3 for 3 paints and $1.25 for a small spool of ribbon. So inexpensive to make! I used the tutorial on how to make ribbons on forks to make the bows, super easy.

Cute sorority friendship bracelet valentines! :) done in sorority colors!

Anonymous asked: hey i have to craft for someone who isn't very girly. she loves concerts. grey, and purple. & i don't want to do everything those two colors. help?
One of my favorite things about crafting is that even though you are making it for someone else and want it to reflect them, because it is a gift from you you get to put a little bit of your own style into it! It makes it seem more personal that way. So even if you used grey and purple, you could make the actual design more feminine if thats your thing, and use many different shades. The possibilities are endless! Don’t just limit yourself to their style. If I knew what types of crafts you are wanting or able to make, I might be able to provide better suggestions! :)
Don’t forget!
You can send in tutorials and pictures of crafts! :)
What did you make for your little? What did your big make for you?
Got an answer?
Answer: I supposed I’ll post this! Maybe there are some places I haven’t heard of before. Post your best, ladies! ALSO: Maybe post any places that sell some awesome greek crafting supplies to mix things up a bit ;)
